My name is Shontay and I am a Freelance Makeup Artist. I actually sort of stumbled into doing this.
I have been doing my own hair since I was 16, but until about 3 years ago I never wore a stitch of makeup. 3 years ago I stumbled upon a makeup tutorial on Youtube and was obsessed from then on. I would literally sit up all night watching video after video, I couldn't get enough.
So I started collecting makeup and practicing. I eventually made a makeup tutorial, which was horrible I might add lol, and it was all she wrote. It just snowballed from there.
Now I absolutely love doing it. I couldn't see my life without it. It's so rewarding to inspire others and to make women feel beautiful. It's so amazing to see the confidence they exude after being GLAMIFIED.
I love it! I've always been an artist, and doing makeup provides the best of both worlds.
My advice to anyone that would like to do the same is to PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! I'm no better than the next person. I had no idea what I was doing 3 years ago and here I am today. Also, be confident. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it, or don't be scared to do what you love in fear of others judgement.
In the future I plan to make tons of videos. I've been very occupied lately, but I am excited to get back on Youtube. I have lots of reviews, giveaways, and makeup tutorials in store, so keep watching! I'm always open to suggestions so please feel free to email me.
More about me
I am a 26 years old full time moomy of one and have been for the past 7 years. I am a homebody. I would prefer cuddling up on the couch and watching a movie any day over going out partying. I am also a huge jokester and am always making everyone laugh lol. And of course, I am extremely into fashion and beauty.

Tips: As far as Makeup goes, always make sure that you are caring for your skin. All of the makeup in the world can't make horrible damaged skin look good. Exfoliate twice a week, wash your makeup off at night, find a moisturizer that is good for your skin type, etc. I can't stress how important this is! You don't want to rely on makeup to be beautiful.
Hair: It's also very important to care for your natural hair. Wear extensions and weaves more as a protective style. If you are using glue to adhere your extensions, make sure to remove them properly to avoid pulling out your hair.

Give yourself hot oil treatments, trim your ends regularly to promote hair growth, and DO NOT over process your hair. As I stated above, you don't want weave to be a necessity!
I'll leave you with a few of my favorite products that I can't live without:
Revlon Colorstay Foundation in Cappuccino
MAC Pro Longwear Concealer (Be sure to get a shade or two lighter than your skin tone for a highlighting effect. I love NW 40, or for the daring NW 30)
MAC Fix + (Gives your face a glowing effect and reduces the "cakey look)
Nivea Moisturizer
Vaseline (Lip Moisturizer)
ABBA Hair Products (AMAZING!!)
A good Red Lipstick (Wet and Wild has a GREAT one and MAC's Russian Red)
Bonnebell Liplites LipGlosses (AMAZING and Yummy)
