Happy Birthday to a very handsome young man!
Lynxxx, Nigeria own heartrobe has added a new year today.
Africa Style Daily, and online magazine caught up with Lynxxx earlier this year, and here is what he had to say.
AFRICA STYLE DAILY: How impactful/influential is style to you as an artist?
LYNXXX: Style to me as an artist I believe is my identity! Therefore its very important and could mean my style of music or my style of dressing but most importantly its what my fans identify with and in turn may have the ability to influence.
ASD: Do you currently work with a stylist? Why or why not?
LYNXXX: I have worked with various stylists in my career over the years but right now I work with a female designer (Toju Foyeh) who makes me a lot of custom gear for my stage performances and shoots (video / photo). The greatest thing about it is the fact that she doesn’t make male clothes so its an exclusive deal. So I’m sure I wouldn’t have the same pieces as anyone else!
ASD: What do you consider your trademark style?
LYNXXX: My trademark style is definitely the smart GQ look! I believe I own over 50 suits and various blazers and jackets. From the jump of my career, that’s a signature look be it from my stage performances to my photo and video shoots or red carpet appearances, Looking sharp is a must for my brand.
ASD: How has it evolved since you began your music career?
LYNXXX: I believe my style has moved with time, cos even tho my signature look revolves around looking GQ and sharp, the style / cuts, fabrics and mix match options change depending on how I feel. I like to spice up my style with accessories. From watches, rings to neck pieces.
ASD: Does what you wear on stage get days, hours, or seconds of thought?
LYNXXX: hmmm…. I think its more of an “hours” issue. I hardly pre-anticipate my dress-code. If I know I have an even coming up I instantly have an idea of what look I want to go for but I wait till the day before I put things together.
ASD: If your sound/music were an established clothing brand it would be…
LYNXXX: Hermes, simple, classy, not too out there and easy to identify.
ASD: An investor approaches you about launching a clothing line, what would you name it?
LYNXXX: I already have a clothing line called “syndik8 Denim”. You can Google it and read about it but its a premium urban brand, established in 2007 and we specialize in T-shirts for both male and female. Before I got into music professionally I used to design, specialized in Graphic and webdesigns and my partner ikon n I started designing clothes and we are currently in the process of opening our 1st shop.
We wish Lynxxx a fantastic new year!
I'm sure he has many fans amongst African Sweetheart readers.
